A Thrift Store Directory
ThriftLocator is an independent directory that helps shoppers find thrift, resale, donation, and nonprofit stores in Georgia. The site currently focuses on the Atlanta metropolitan area, including communities such as Atlanta, Alpharetta, Cumming, Marietta, Roswell, Decatur, Chamblee, Duluth, Johns Creek, Powder Springs, Ellijay, and Jasper. As we verify more locations we expand coverage outward across Georgia.
Listings come from three places. Most start as public business records — for example, store names, addresses, and phone numbers from publicly available business directories, store websites, and mapping services. Some come from readers who use our submission form. A smaller number are added manually by the editorial team when we confirm a store directly. Every listing is recorded with the source it came from so we know how to re-check it later.
Before a store appears on the site, an editor reviews its name, address, and at least one contact method (phone or website) to confirm the location is plausibly real and operating. Each listing carries a "last verified" date. When a listing has not been re-checked recently, the page shows a less confident status (such as "Recently checked," "Needs confirmation," or "Unverified") instead of a strong "Verified" badge. Stores that we have confirmed are permanently closed are not shown in active lists; their pages return an HTTP 410 Gone response so search engines can drop them.
Local knowledge is the most reliable signal we have. If a store has moved, changed hours, closed, or is missing from the directory, please tell us. You can submit a new store through the public form, or send a correction through the contact form. Submissions are reviewed manually before anything is published.
ThriftLocator is a directory and a resource. We are not affiliated with the stores listed on the site unless explicitly stated. We do not sell goods, take consignments, accept donations of merchandise, or endorse any specific store. Linking to a store's website or phone number is not an endorsement. Please contact stores directly to confirm hours, donation rules, payment methods, and current inventory before visiting.
